Weave a Small Round Basket with Ruth Boland: Class for adults

One-day workshop
Saturday, September 28
10:30 am to 3:30 pm

In this workshop, taking place at the Currier Museum, students will weave a fun basket from dyed and natural reed. Learn beginner building fundamentals, like how to set up, shape and weave, as well as various finishing approaches and rimming techniques. This class is appropriate for all levels and all materials and tools will be provided. 
This workshop will include an additional materials fee of $20.00 paid directly to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

CLASSES RESUME: Thursday April 11 (6-8:30pm) and Friday April 12 at (10am-12:30pm)

Fridays    10am – 12:30pm

Tuition: $25 for a single class OR
$90 for a set of 4 classes (do not need to be consecutive) OR
$180 for a set of 10 classes (do not need to be consecutive)

Materials: Costs vary by project
Ages: Adult and teens 14+

Classes are offered in an “open weave” tradition. In these classes students can choose from numerous skill-level appropriate projects and progress at their own pace with teacher assistance. All levels from beginner to advanced students are welcome.

Dates: Open Enrollment/Choose Thursday, Friday or Saturday
Time:   2 hours/session, 6 sessions total
Tuition:  $240     Materials: $50 – $90
Ages:  Adult and teens 14+

Basic techniques of jewelry making will be taught using wire and sheet in copper and silver.  Learn to pierce, solder and finish metals.  You can expect to complete 4 or 5 projects.

Basket Weaving Class Policies*

  • Class Fee is due at the time of registration.
  • Material Fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class, payable with cash or check.
  • Basket making classes: Class credit for missed classes will be issued if notice is given at least 7 days prior to the class.  Notice given less than 7 days but more than 24 hours will result in a 50% credit.  The only exception to this is if you are sick with a potentially contagious illness.
  • We reserve the right to cancel classes due to inadequate enrollment and other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation a credit or full refund will be given.
